Closes 12 September 2026 (1 day left)Anyone who picked the University of Jos as first choice and scored 180 or above can register on portal.unijos.edu.ng. Make sure your O'Level results are uploaded on JAMB CAPS first. Registration closes on 12 September.

UNIOSUN opens post-UTME for 2026/2027
Closes 17 September 2026 (6 days left)Osun State University wants candidates to register at admissions.uniosun.edu.ng, pay ₦3,000 for portal access and ₦2,000 for the screening through Remita. Print two copies of your form and upload your O level results on JAMB CAPS. Forms close at noon on Thursday 17 September, and DE candidates must send transcripts by 4 September.

NSUK post-UTME registration runs till 30 September
Closes 30 September 2026 (19 days left)Apply at ug.nsuk.edu.ng/application with a processing fee of ₦2,000. Most courses need a UTME score of 160 to 170, Law needs 200 and Engineering 180. You also need five O'Level credits including English and Mathematics in at most two sittings.

JAMB rules, CAPS, and the steps you have to take yourself.
Any admission not on CAPS is null and void
No closing date givenJAMB has stated that any admission not processed through CAPS is null and void. If someone offers you a space that does not appear on your CAPS page, it is not admission – no matter who offers it or what they charge. Check CAPS yourself before you pay anybody anything.

No closing date givenYou can check your admission on CAPS at any time using your JAMB profile. You do not need an agent and you do not need to pay anyone to check it. Log in, open CAPS, and accept or reject any offer yourself.

No closing date givenOnce you have accepted admission on CAPS you can print your JAMB admission letter from the JAMB portal. Most schools ask for it at clearance, so print it before you travel for registration.

NCE admission registration is open without UTME
No closing date givenYou can now register for NCE programmes in colleges of education, and for non technological agriculture programmes in polytechnics, without sitting the UTME. Take your O'Level credentials to any JAMB Professional Registration Centre or a college registration centre to sign up.

Minimum scores for the current admission year.
JAMB 2026/2027 minimum scores: 150, 150 and 100
No closing date givenThe 2026 policy meeting set the minimum UTME score at 150 for universities, 150 for colleges of nursing, and 100 for polytechnics, colleges of education and innovation enterprise institutions. This is the floor to be considered. Your school can still set a higher mark of its own.

JAMB sets minimum admission scores for 2026
No closing date givenYou need at least 150 to be admitted into a university or a college of nursing this year. Polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of agriculture and colleges of education will take 100 and above. You must also be at least 16 years old to gain admission.

UI thesis deadline: 30 September for November degrees
Closes 30 September 2026 (19 days left)To be awarded in November, your University of Ibadan thesis must be submitted by 30 September 2026. The rules are exact: five hard copies bound in green with gold lettering, five to seven chapters, and an abstract of no more than 500 words. Read the manual of style before you send anything to the binder.

NECO 2026 external registration is open until 26 October
Closes 26 October 2026NECO SSCE External registration runs from 7 July to 26 October 2026. The fee is ₦30,000 and your NIN is required. After the closing date late registration costs an extra ₦5,000, and walk-in registration costs ₦43,000. Register early and pay the lower amount.

Nigerian Law School Bar Part II 2026/2027 opens 7 September
Closes 31 December 2026Applications for the Bar Part II course open on Monday 7 September 2026 and close on Thursday 31 December 2026. The application fee is ₦40,000 and is not refundable. Classes start on Monday 22 February 2027 at Bwari Abuja plus the Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Yenagoa, Yola and Port Harcourt campuses. Your university must send your data to the Law School before you can apply.

No closing date givenIf you believe your WAEC result is wrong, the National Examinations Committee hears appeals within one year of the result being released. Do not pay an agent to "upgrade" a result – that does not exist. Use the official appeal route instead.

How to request your UI transcript and what it costs
No closing date givenUniversity of Ibadan transcripts are requested through the Undergraduate Students' Records Unit. Sending to a Nigerian address costs ₦5,000 and to a foreign address ₦7,000. A student copy is ₦5,000 and record verification is also ₦5,000. Request early – schools and employers usually want the transcript before your deadline, not after.

TETFund gives ₦7.5 billion research grants to 174 teams
No closing date givenTETFund has awarded ₦7.5 billion under the 2025 National Research Fund to 174 research teams. Individual grants run from ₦13.69 million to ₦49.98 million. FUT Minna took 18 grants, FUT Owerri 11 and ABU Zaria 10. If you are heading into research, this is the fund your supervisor will be applying to.

Print your call-up letter yourself on the NYSC portal
No closing date givenNobody has to print your call-up letter for you and nobody should charge you for it. Log into the NYSC portal with the details you registered with and print it yourself. Take the printed letter, your school ID and your statement of result to camp.

No closing date givenThe corps member monthly allowance rose from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000. It was approved in September 2024 and started paying in March 2025. This is the federal allowance only. Whatever your place of primary assignment adds on top of it is separate.

No closing date givenYou can ask to be moved to another state, but only on grounds NYSC accepts, such as health or marriage, and you must apply before you have served six months. Apply through the portal with your evidence. Do not move first and apply after – that is treated as absence.

Reject your NYSC posting and you serve extra months
No closing date givenRefusing your place of primary assignment is an offence under the NYSC bye-laws, and the penalty is extra months added to your service. If the posting is genuinely unsuitable, use the rejection channel at the state secretariat within the allowed days. Do not simply stay away.

Miss 3 months of service and you are declared wanted
No closing date givenAbsence of three months or more without leave gets a corps member declared wanted under the bye-laws. Repeating the service year after that carries a fine of ₦4,000 or up to two years. Sign your clearance every month and keep the record.

UI postgraduate: fees, three referees and an English test
No closing date givenUniversity of Ibadan charges ₦20,000 for academic programmes and ₦25,000 for professional ones, plus ₦5,000 for the English proficiency test, where the pass mark is 40 per cent. You need three referees and you may apply for one programme only, so choose carefully before you pay.

UNN postgraduate entry rules: the grades you need
No closing date givenUniversity of Nigeria, Nsukka sets out the exact grades for each postgraduate level. For a PhD you need a Master's average of at least 3.50 on a 5.0 scale. Check the requirement for your own programme before you pay, because departments differ.

Government approves big NYSC changes: 6-week camp
No closing date givenThe Federal Executive Council approved a full reform of NYSC in June 2026 – the first complete review in the scheme's 53 years. Orientation camp moves to six weeks with more skills training built in. Watch for the commencement date before you assume it applies to your batch.
